Observant Musing-The Lovely Bounce
As cars whisked dangerously by her, a tall, seriously voluptuous woman was running down the length of the median. “That’s not too smart.” I thought to myself, as I got closer. She was running in the opposite direction of traffic, and away from a van that was parked along the shoulder of the road. Through the windows in the back of the van, I could see little smiling faces staring out after her. She appeared to be running toward something, but I couldn’t see what it was. I imagined that something very important had flown out of the van to make it worth the risk to her life to retrieve it. Aside from another human being, or a big-money winning lottery ticket, I couldn’t fathom what that might be.
As she ran, she caused a breeze to lift her hair up and fan it out to form a halo around her head. As well, her very large breast bounced up and down beneath a too small tank top-that strained to cover them. Mindful of her bobbing breasts and the looks they elicited from passing traffic; she ran a little bit, then walked, then ran a little bit again, causing her breast to bounce, settle, and bounce some more.
You could tell that she was in a quandary- torn between retrieving her item quickly, or slowing down her gait to keep her breast-bouncing to a minimum. She laughed self-consciously at the absurdity of her situation.
All this I saw and speculated in the 30 seconds or so I had as I approached and passed her in my car. I took a parting glance in my rearview (no pun intended) mirror, and saw the wide girth of her rump filling her jean skirt to capacity.
I looked to my immediate right after passing her, to see if I could gage reactions from other passing drivers. By the smile on his face, as he too took a glance in his rearview mirror for a rear view (pun intended)it was obvious that she’d given at least one man a fleeting thrill. I imagined him drinking cocktails with his friends that evening, using hand gestures to describe the woman with the lovely bounce.
